This adorable little cardigan vest will add just the right layer of warmth for your little one.

Pattern includes instructions for 6-12 month size, with a 20” finished chest.
Because of the stretchy nature of the fabric created, vest will fit a variety of body shapes and sizes.
You can easily adjust body length, and depth of neckband/collar.

Vest is knit flat in pieces (back and fronts), which are joined at the shoulders and sides. Stitches are picked up around the neckband, and worked in garter stitch. Simple short row shaping creates a slightly shaped shawl collar, and easy buttonholes are included, with detailed and clear instructions for buttonhole placement.

Pattern requires approx. 250 yds DK weight yarn.
Sample was knit with 2 skeins of Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK (color 04).

Recommended needles are size 5, straight or circular (for body), and size 4, 32” circular (for neckband).

Recommended gauge is 6 sts per inch in cable ribbed pattern, using larger needles.

Pattern is clearly written (there are no charts), and includes clear and detailed reverse shaping instructions for right and left front sections.
Caribble (cable rib) pattern is created using ‘Right Twists’ - a mini cabling technique that does not require a cable needle.

Required skills include casting on, knitting, purling, 3 needle bind off, Right Twist mini cable (instructions included), decreases (K2tog and SSK), picking up and knitting stitches (for neckband), YO buttonholes, and short rows in garter stitch (instructions included).

I hope that you’ll enjoy knitting the Baby Caribble Vest.
