This cuff down sock pattern is designed for the person wanting to knit socks for the first time. But it is also a basic sock pattern for an experienced sock knitter too. It takes you through the steps of sock knitting in a manner that you can knit a pair of socks by following the instructions.

The pattern is designed for a set of 5 double point needles, stitches on 4 needles and knit with the 5th needle. The pattern can easily be converted to knit with either magic loop or 9” circular needles.

The pattern includes links for the kitchener stitch and charts to be used for shoe to sock lengths.

Materials:
• Sock Weight Yarn: Approximately 275 (325) yards
• Safety pin style stitch marker
• Darning needle

Needles Used:
• US2(2.75mm) double point needles (set of 5)

Gauge:
• 2 inches in stockinette = 15 1/2 stitches, 22 rows

Techniques Used:
• Knit in the round, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, kitchener stitch
