A peaked, loose crowned hat with cable pattern and button detailing, knit in aran weight alpaca yarn. Peak is knit back and forth and folded before picking up stitches and joining in the round with a tubular technique that creates ribbing without a cast-on edge. The crown has pleats in addition to a cable motif and decreases evenly to create a flat ‘beret’ top. Alpaca has no memory and will expand greatly on washing so it is advised that you swatch carefully and consider knitting a larger size if using a substitute fibre yarn. Pattern is charted with written instructions and is rated as moderate.
