A barber pole pattern that may be made as tall or as short as you’d like. Pattern is worked by first stitching and finishing off the bulb end, then attaching four strands of yarn to its rim to work the spiral (two red and two white, alternating or not, or red, blue, and two white would be traditional). The spiral is worked as four continuous strips of stitching meshed together, so while you regularly stop working one color and start another, there are no color changes. After finishing off the strands of the spiral, you attach the yarn for the base of the pole and work it in one piece.
