Inspired by the knit grumpasaurus and my sister’s reaction to her slow recovery from an ankle injury, I created a crochet grumpasaurus. It is more complicated than the knit one by a lot, using pipe cleaners inside the arms and a good bit of shaping, including chaining out to increase the diameter of the rounds (for the tail, giving it a rippled effect along the top). At the base it switches from crochet in the round to crochet in rows to make a flap that is sewn across the bottom opening. The arms and legs are separate pieces.

I stuffed mine with yarn ends and other scraps and it weighs a ton.
