Sizes given are finished dimensions. You’ll need 7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11, 12, 12, 13) hanks of the recommended yarn for the different sizes; shown in color “Arizona”.

Sometimes, the only update a traditional garment needs is a new yarn choice. This classic Guernsey-inspired sweater is completely old-school in stitch patterning and construction. But it feels new and fresh, decidedly unlike sweaters of old, thanks to the 100% linen yarn I used.

Working with linen can take some getting used to (translation: make a large swatch!), but the resulting garment is more than worth an unusual knitting experience. It softens with wear, has incredible sheen, and drapes beautifully, making a sweater that’s exactly the kind of thing you’d want to throw on for a summer-night walk on the beach.
