This little fella is so named because when asked why I was designing and knitting a bunny rabbit, the answer, of course, was “because I can”! And it’s the only bunny allowed in my vegetable patch …

I knit this first one in DK weight yarn, but he/she can be worked in any weight of yarn, as long as you change needle size appropriately to give you a dense fabric to prevent the stuffing showing through. The finished bunny was 24 cm in height. Want a smaller one? Try fingering weight yarn. I guess that you could try super bulky for a large bunny. Go wild!

The rabbit is knitted in one piece, without seams. The stitches for the ears are picked up at the end, and the face is embroidered on last.

I used the Magic Loop technique, and have written the pattern to reflect this, but you could use 2 circulars, or DPNs – whatever floats your boat!
