When I set out to create this shawl, I wanted something to use up the Rosy Green Wool I had left over from previous projects. The design flowed together so seamlessly that it wasn’t until long after I was finished that I recognized the unconscious inspiration influencing the placement of coulours. Luebeck, my home town, is also the home of a very talented weaver, Ruth Loebe, and her choice of colours must have been in the back of my mind when designing this shawl.

I hope you enjoy choosing colours for the squishy, flowery stitches of your own shawl, and if you’d like to find inspiration from Ruth’s brilliant palette, I encourage you to check out her work:

Edit: The original link no longer works. Ruth Loebe died in early 2016. You can get a glimpse of her talent in this article (German).
