The beret is worked in the round from bottom to the top. With a super stretchy slip knot cast-on (photo tutorial is included into the pattern) you cast-on the required number of stitches and work in ribbing to the main part. The main part is worked in garter stitch. When you work the required number of rows you work decreases and form a top.

This pattern is a calculation-based one.
You choose yarn you want to work with, take measurements, make a gauge swatch and then work through the pattern making necessary calculations based on your measurements and the gauge.
You don’t need to meet the pattern gauge.

Yarn recommendations:
You can use springy yarn of worsted or bulky weight. For a kid size you will need about 5.3 oz (150g), for an adult size you will need about 7 oz (200 g) of yarn.

  • Circular needles suitable for your yarn,
  • Circular needles -2 sizes (0.5-1.0 mm) smaller than the main needles,
  • Stitch markers,
  • Tapestry needle,
  • Measuring tape,
  • Calculator.

Gauge:
No required numbers.
Make your own swatch and use it’s gauge for all the calculations.
