The Basics pattern book contains instructions for 3 beginner knitting projects and each pattern is written for 3 different yarn weights (DK, Worsted or Bulky). It also includes links to video tutorials for all the basic techniques used (especially helpful if your a true-blue beginner).

This pattern book could also be useful if you are teaching someone to knit.

This pattern features three different gauge options, so you can use DK, worsted or bulky weight yarn.

Pattern Information:

Yarn Weight: DK (Worsted, Bulky)
Gauge: 5.5 (4.5, 3.5) sts = 1” / 2.5 cm in Rib, fully stretched
Yarn: approx. 450 (375, 260) yds DK (Worsted, Bulky) weight yarn, shown in Bulky ver¬sion using Vintage Chunky by Berroco (50% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 10% Nylon; 100g = 130 yds), 2 skeins (note: entire 2 skeins was used in sample with no yardage leftover so you may want to consider purchasing 3 skeins to be safe).

Needles and other supplies:
• US 6 (8, 10) / 4 (5, 6) mm knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in ends
