Pattern description from Knitting Little Luxuries: “This delicate and pretty wrap looks far more intricate and complicated to knit than it really is - the colors and simple lace pattern do all the work, and the yarn is used double for quick knitting. the button closure, placed deliberately askew, gives the piece a flirty asymmetry.”

Finished Size: 39.5 (44, 49)“ (100.5 112, 124.5 cm) long and 13” (33 cm) wide

Yarn: DK weight (#3 Light) and chunky weight (#5 Bulky).

  • Louisa Harding Grace (50% merino wool, 50% silk; 110 yd 101 m/50 g): #4 rose (A), 3 balls, and #13 aqua (C), 2 balls.
  • Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon (90% polyamid, 10% metallic, 66 yd 60 m/50 g): #23 bon bon (pink/blue/green, B), 1 hank.
  • Louisa Harding Impressions (16% kid mohair, 84% polyamid; 154 yd 141 m/50 g): #14 fanfare (pink/blue/peach, D), 2 balls.

Needles: U.S. size 8 (5 mm) and U.S. size 10 (6 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Tapestry needle; two 1” (2.5 cm) mother-of-pearl buttons.

Notes:

  • Written instructions and a chart are both for the lace pattern; choose your favorite way of working lace.
  • When changing color, it isn’t necessary to weave in any yarn ends; these are knotted and trimmed to make the fringe. When joining a new yarn, leave a 4” (10 cm) tail for fringe.
  • Grace and Impressions yarns are used double throughout.
