Bewitching Birdies

These yarny birds are right at home in the enchanted forest, where they nest among the textile trees and frolic with the fairies.

One skein makes many, many birds.

Errata: The wing directions are incorrect. See below.

Left Wing
With G/6 hook and A, B, C, F, or G, ch 14.
Round 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (beginning ch does not count as a st), dc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next 6 ch, (sc, sl st, sc) in last ch; pivot piece to work across opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 6 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next ch, 3 dc in next ch; join with sl st in first dc—26 sts.
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in next 5 sts, 3sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 3 sts, dc in next 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, dc in top of sl st; join with sl st in first dc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing the wing to the body.

Right Wing
