BIG HALF HAP
This is a pattern for a big (2,8 meter by 1,3 meter) triangular shawl that you can wrap around yourself. A Hap is a traditional wrap from Shetland. The pattern is testknitted.

MATERIAL
Moeke Yarns Elena: C1-65 gram, C2-50 gram, C3-58 gram, C4-64 gram, C5-71 gram, C6-83 gram. Moeke Yarns Elena has approx. 330 meter per 100 gram. Moeke Yarns Elena is available in 3 colors, Natural, Brown and Grey, if you don’t want to dye your yarn yourself (which is a very nice activity), you can alternate those colors in the Hap.
Blacker Yarns Cornish Tin II 4-ply or Tamar: 6 colors, or you could let a color return in another stripe. This yarn has approx. 350 meter per 100 gram. Look to the amount of colors in grams above.
Fingering weight yarn to choice, look to the amount of yarn per color above. You can stash dive too! Woolly yarns will work the best.

Needles: it depends on how tight you knit. Tight knitters should use 4,5 mm, standard knitters 4 mm, and loose knitters better use 3,5 mm. You need a needle 0,5 mm smaller for the first garter section. The fabric should not be holey in the garter section, but nice and squishy. You need at least a 100 cm long circular needle.

GAUGE
The gauge in this wrap is not as important as it is in garments that need to fit.
