Note sul modello:

Big Wishes Star continues the tradition of the family of poinsettias, the firstborn of which was the Wishing Star.

Embroider it as I have here, or choose your own colors.
Imagine it in different colors: the other big Christmas classic forest green/red, in natural white/dark grey for an optical Nordic effect, or gold/black Hollywood style to be used in the bedroom after Christmas …. go head, customize it just as you like!

Or don’t embroider it at all! Just a add a few feet of satin ribbon (or tulle, velvet, rope, fabric strips, etc …) and all the bells and whistles you can think of (balls, pine cones, holly sprigs, gnomes, mushrooms and other odds and ends …) and it will still be beautiful.

About this pattern
The star is made by knitting two identical pieces which are then sewn together.
It does not require any specific techniques but, as always, just particular care in sewing and finishing it.
Don’t be surprised by the rather fine gauge used for the gauge swatch; it is close knit to hide the fiberfill.

The pattern include a photo tutorial for all the embroidery steps and the links to video tutorials for all the stitches/techniques used.

  • To achieve the pattern you will need (non including the embroidery): *
  • main color (mine is white) - 2.47 oz / 186 yds approx.
  • contrasting color (red) - 1.06 oz / 77 yds approx.
  • 5.30 oz approx. of synthetic fiberfill

Thanks to Donna Lynne Galletta for the proof reading of the pattern in english.
