The classic ribbed sock is given a twist with a pleasingly simple stitch pattern. The textured rib stich is very effective for tracking progress, whilst giving an excellent fit on the body. The Birch Ply Socks pattern is multi-sized for 3 adult sizes.

Patterns from the Building Blocks Sock Collection are written with multiple options, to allow the knitter to learn new methods of sock knitting. Choose your preferred yarn weight: a heavier, sport-weight yarn creates speedy, thick socks; or stick to a typical fingering-weight sock yarn for a classic hand-knitted fit.

Directions are also given for knitting downwards from the cuff, and upwards from the toe. Both versions are written with a heel flap, short row heel, and gusset.
