The Red Brick Socks is written for two weights of yarn, light DK/sport, and 4-ply/fingering. The heavier yarn weight really makes a difference to the speed of knitting, producing thicker socks perfect for boots or bedtime. Old hands at sock knitting can stick to the standard 4-ply/fingering weight.

The pattern offers two directions of sock knitting: downwards from the cuff, and up from the toe. Both versions are written with a heel flap, short row heel, and gusset.
