BIRDIE RATTLES

These little birdie rattles are easy to knit and require only a little bit of sewing together. You could make these in any colours, how about black and white for a penguin, or brown and red for a robin?

ABOUT THE PATTERN: The pattern has row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the rattles, a list of abbreviations and a materials list. The pattern is 3 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. You need to know how to knit, purl, increase and decrease, change colour at the end of a row to knit stripes and do some seaming.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A pair of straight 4mm knitting needles (US 6)
  • DK weight acrylic yarn (double knitting, light worsted)
  • Toy filling
