This is a loose sleeveless crop top knitted in a variety of stitches to give an overall lacy look and feel. The pattern is one size only knitted bottom up, and in the round, until the split for the sleeves. There is plenty of positive ease without any body shaping to give a classic boxy look. As a result of this the length and width would be easy to modify to suit your personal preference. The stitches are simple repeats and again could be modified to add even more variety to this top. Shoulder shaping is achieved using short rows and the German Short Row Method.
This pattern does not contain any specific neck finishing as I felt this was more in keeping with the lacy style. A preferred neck band could easily by added by picking up stitches around the neck edge as the final stage of the project.

When knitting this I used 225g of light fingering weight (3ply) cotton held double (or use a yarn of choice to achieve the required gauge).

Finished width of body measured under the arms - 56cm (22”)
Width of sleeve (measured across rib) - 15cm (6”)
Body length from under arm to cast on edge) - 28cm (11”)
Body length from highest shoulder point to cast on edge - 46cm (18”)
Width back neck - approx. 25cm (10”)

This pattern has been written up from my project notes but not tested as yet. It is just one size but the nature of the design means that it would be easy to modify to suit other sizes and yarns. If any errors or inconsistencies are found please let me know and I’ll amend asap.

Release of the Danish version to Ravelry.
My thanks to Marrianne Holmen for kindly translating the pattern into Danish. Marianne’s knitting website also includes the Danish version of this pattern along with many others available for download.
