This knitted beanie is bright and colorful, and was named after the yarn it was made from. It works up fairly fast, and is a nice project for beginner knitters, who have the basic knowledge of knitting. Some easy sewing is also required.

If you don’t have a pom pom maker, you can use a piece of cardboard or even your hand to wind the pom pom yourself. Check around for some easy tutorials on this if you’re not sure how to make them.

The item(s) made with this pattern were meant to fit an 18-inch American Girl doll, as shown in the pictures. However, they will also fit similar dolls, such as Our Generation, My Life As, and others. I added a sizing chart to the pictures, to help you compare your dolls to the American Girl dolls.

It is recommended that you read entirely through the pattern before starting with it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.

For this pattern I used:

~ Red Heart Super Saver Multis/Prints in the color Blacklight, but you can use any other 4-medium worsted weight yarn you choose.

~ Knitting needles size: US 8 - 5.00 mm

I also have a pattern for a matching coat. You can find it here: Blacklight Coat.

  • I want to keep my patterns free for everyone to use, but in return I would like to ask you not to sell them or claim them as your own. You are free to sell the completed projects you make with my patterns, however.

Have fun, and happy knitting!
