Plain squares can be crocheted and embellished with fabric, applique, cross-stitch, buttons, beads, etc. and assembled into afghans for group, community or charitable projects.

Photos are sample squares made at a “stitching bridal shower” which will be assembled into a wedding memento blanket.

Last photo shows completed squares and the fabric backing they will be attached to for cohesiveness and stability. Quilt batting, backing and a rod pocket will be added so it can be hung on the wall.
