Growing up my favorite flowers in our garden were bleeding hearts and they remain a joy to spot in local yards. Over the years their delicate stems and elegant dancing blooms became synonymous with Spring. The Bleeding Hearts Cowl and hat bring the promise of spring as they keep away Winter’s chill.

Both Bleeding Hearts Cowl and hat place an organic and rhythmic lace stitch pattern over reverse stockinette stitch with subtly different effects. With the cowl’s larger motif and wider reverse stockinette stitch the bleeding hearts float over rich purled texture for a warm and cozy cowl. Each pattern comes with instructions for three sizes and pointers for customizing the fit.

The hat and cowl patterns are sold separately. The Bleeding Hearts Hat pattern is listed here.
