SIZE: 19” wide x 68” long; Shawl can be made longer by working additional repeats of either
the body or the borders. As written, it uses the entire single skein of Allegro.
YARN: 1 skein Vijay Fibers Mulberry Allegro (100% Mulberry Silk; 821 yds/100 g); Color: Starry Night
MATERIALS:

  • One pair US Size 5/3.75 mm needles
  • One extra US Size 5/3.75 needle
  • Beading Crochet hook US Size No. 10/0.75 mm
  • Approx. 170 Size 6 beads
  • Tapestry needle

GAUGE:

  • Borders: 20 sts and 22 sts = 4”, blocked
  • Body: 30 sts and 24 rows = 4”, blocked

PATTERN NOTES:
The shawl is worked in two pieces; the first border and the body are worked in one length.
Then, the second border is worked separately and seamed to the body using the invisible
Kitchener Stitch. This method is described in Special Techniques section. Beads are applied
to the borders using the crochet hook method. Pattern instructions for both lace designs are
provided in chart format only.
