This is a pattern for a Fair-isle Beanie. It is knitted from the bottom up in stranded colourwork using Shetland yarn. I have given 2 colourways- one in Jamiesons of Shetland Spindrift and the other in Jamieson & Smith 2 ply jumerweight. Jamiesons has light grey (shade Pebble) as a main colour and Jamieson & Smith has light fawn as the main (shade 202). The hat only uses a few grams of each pattern colour. It is knit in the round using circular needles then on double pointed needles to finish the crown. It could easily be knit on double pointed needles throughout. This is a great pattern for trying out a bit of stranded knitting and great for using up scraps. A pom pom is optional.
