I designed these gloves to use up small quantities of handspun but they could also be knit with any 4 ply fingering weight e.g. sock yarn or Shetland 2 ply jumper weight. They knit in the round and are started with a Latvian cast on then knit in stocking stitch in 2 colours stripes that are 2 rounds each. The thumb is knit by increasing out the side of the hand so both gloves are knit the same. The pattern is written for full fingered gloves but can easily be made as half fingers by knitting them to the length you want then knitting a few rounds of rib. They are cast on with a 1.75mm/US00 and the rest is on 2mm/US0. This gives an 20cm/8” hand circumference and a total length of 23cm/9”. For a bigger size go up in needle size. The pattern is written for the magic loop method but could be made on double pointed needles. The full fingered gloves used 50g of the main colour and 28g of the contrast (white). The half fingered version used 38g of the main colour and 28g of the contrast.
