This baby blanket came about because of another pattern I created which used broomstick lace. I was very intrigued by the design and wanted to create something that provided me with the opportunity to practice this newfound stitch. Being pregnant with my seventh child my thoughts naturally turned to a baby blanket to keep the babe warm in the cold autumn months. I love how soft and pretty this blanket turned out. The contrasting colors help to display the lacy design even more. It is about 21 inches by 21 inches. I have included simple directions on how to increase the size in the pattern. I used homespun alpaca fiber but any medium sized, soft yarn would work.
