This easy colorwork cowl plays with five contrasting colors and pattern to jazz up your wardrobe!

Designed for 5 mini-skeins of yarn (Lorna’s Laces String Quintet) as well as a base color, it’s a perfect project to try out stranded knitting.

This pattern is knit in the round and joined seamlessly for a double-layer cowl in two sizes.

Brubeck incorporates an easily memorized color pattern along with ‘resting’ one-color rows. Challenging but relaxing!

The pattern has both charted and written instructions.

The companion hat Desmond is designed to use up any leftovers from this project.

(The Dave Brubeck Quartet is well known for the 1959 jazz standard composed by Paul Desmond called “Take Five”.)
