It has to be said, I have a soft spot in my heart for Brutalist architecture. I love the harsh lines and the sweeping magnitude of the buildings. Somehow, Brutalist buildings seem futuristic and archaic at the same time, which is how I feel about knitting at times.

This shawl is my ode to the concrete giants.

Brutalist is an asymmetrical shawl knit from the top left corner to the bottom right edge and includes 2 mosaic sections. It’s size is easily customizable, and although it could be knit at any gauge, I have written this pattern for a fingering weight yarn.

You will need:
400 yards of Color A
400 yards of Color B
~100 yards of Color C (for the optional edging)

Shawl shown in:
Polkadot Sheep Tenderfoot in “Dusty Road”
Tosh Sock in “Ink”
Black Trillium Fibres Pebble Sock in “Lightning Bug”
