These thick, squashy mittens will keep your hands warm through the bitterest months of the year, whilst still leaving your fingers free for other pursuits. Featuring an attractive horseshoe cable pattern with rolled cuffs and tops, they’ll keep hands free and fingers toasty… plus, since they’re knitted in a chunky alpaca blend worked at aran tension, they’re practically windproof without being too bulky.

Size:
To fit average-sized hand (approx 7” around at palm)

Gauge:
16 sts and 24 rows = 4”/10cm in st st on 5mm needles.

A note on gauge:
Paloma is a chunky yarn designed to be knitted on 10mm needles, but its uniquely squishy chainette texture lends well to being knitted at a much tighter gauge. Here you will be knitting it as you would knit a thick aran, but due to the drastic change in needle size, substituting a yarn may be tricky for this pattern.
