This fun hip bag is called the butterfan bag because it resembles a HUGE fan and also a butterfly so why not call it a butterfan. This pattern is worked in the BACK LOOPS ONLY; by working in the back loops it gives it a ridged effect. Also this bag is done in pieces and then later seamed together. Some of the pieces are joined as we go along and others are crocheted and then single crocheted together. This bag is made a 6 piece motif. 3 pieces for the front and 3 pieces for the back.

You should already know how to:
Tie a knot
Make a chain
Slip stitch
Do a reverse single crochet

This pattern’s PDF is 16 pages with step by step instructions on creating each piece and putting it together along with plenty of photos to help you along the way.

When finished this bag measures about 15” at it’s widest point and 11” at its tallest point, at it’s shortest point it’s 7.5” that’s like a right under the shoulder kind of purse size (not too big, not too small).
