This simple roll-brim pattern in child to adult sizes, is topped off with a button for accent. Single yarn throughout (solid or handpaint), or 2-yarn stripe.

Sizes: Child S Adult XS / Child M Adult S / Child L Adult M / Adult L / Adult XL, Finished circumference: appx. 16.75 / 17.5 / 18.25 / 19 / 19.75 inch. (An adult medium head is appx. 22 inches, a snug-fitting hat will often be 3-5” less than head circumference.)

Supplies:100gm each of two colors of DK-weight yarn, US 4/ 3.5mm needles. I use three 7” long double-pointed needles (DPNs) to hold my stitches (plus a fourth working needle) throughout. You can use more DPNs if you like. (Or try a small-diameter circular needle, appx. 16” in length, for most of the hat if you prefer; switching to DPNs for the top decreases.)

Gauge: 5.5 st/in and 6.5 rows/in.

Notions: Stitch Markers (8), large-eyed sewing needle, one large button with large holes.
