This Dragonpine Designs pattern was designed by Cathy Frauts.

This hat is knit flat, beginning with a crochet provisional cast on (instructions included) which is removed at the end and the two sides grafted together using the kitchener stitch, or joined using a 3-needle bind off (knitter’s choice; instructions included).

Gauge: not critical

Size: approximately 22” in circumference, or big enough to wrap around once. If you wish to be able to wrap it around twice, double the length and the amount of yarn required.

Materials Required:
140 meters of chunky weight yarn (model was knit in Patons Alpaca Blend)
8 mm knitting needles (pairs or circulars; cowl is knit flat)
8 mm crochet hook (for the provisional cast on)
Waste yarn in a contrasting colour in a similar weight (for the provisional cast on)
Stitch Markers (optional)
Cable Needle
Darning Needle (for weaving in ends)
