The Cashmerino Aran yarn used for the sample is buttery soft and still strong and durable. Because of the cables and lace in the pattern it is best to use a solid yarn for this scarf. Any heavy worsted or aran yarn will do otherwise.

The cable in the pattern is a simple single cable, and the pattern is repeated as many times as desired for the length of scarf you desire. If you are new to lace stitching, then be sure to use a row counter. As you go along with the pattern you should be able to pick up on the clues available to you to tell what row you are working on when you pick it up after setting your work down.
