One pattern knit many ways, in many sizes!*

A classic vest for women, men, teens & kids. Calidez Vest is a unisex vest, knit bottom up with seamless construction, and flat. Pattern includes a substitution chart for gauges 2.5 to 6.5 stitches to the inch, and has extensive size range from 30” to 50” written for bulky weight. Vest has v-neck shaping, with options for crew and high v-neck shapes.
Calidez Vest is perfect for all kinds of fiber, yarn weights & especially your hand-spun!

Gauge Substitution Chart: Pattern includes chart to convert more weight yarns extending sizes from 26” up to 60”, but Not all sizes can be made in all gauges, as gauges are limited in XL and XS sizes.

Important Fitting Note: This vest is full shoulder width, as outdoor-wear vests. I strongly suggest choosing size with slight snug fit through chest, that is 1-2” negative, or the same size as chest measurement. If there is any ease in the chest, the shoulder will likely be too wide. However, the pattern includes option for making shoulders narrower by extra decreases in the armhole; especially appropriate for women wanting a more fitted shoulder, or as a suit waistcoat for men.

  • The narrower shoulder option is also good for after-thought situation where the vest body has been knitted either intentionally or accidentally with a bit more ease (bigger) and the knitter can remedy fit with extra armhole decreases.

  • Properly worked gauge swatch is essential for best fit.

  • Sizes are of actual garment.

Sizes are in proportional increments-- unisex-- and graduated in length as well as circumference. If you wish to create a custom-proportioned fit (as for plus size, extra tall, etc) you will need to have experience in making these changes; as more/fewer decreases in shoulder, or length, etc)
