The rich amber color of the yarn reminds me of caramel, and the mock cables ripple, hence the name. This bulky hat is warm and simple to knit.

If you’d like a slouchy version, try a smaller needle on the band and a US 11 (7.0 mm) or 13 (8.0 mm) on the cabled part. I only used about 3/4 of the skein so you may have enough to do a slouchier version, but you may want to consider buying an extra just in case.
