Knitworthy 2
The collection features 8 patterns intended to make good gifts for everyone on your knitworthy list (because life’s too short to knit for anyone who doesn’t love what you make).

A delicate but quick to work shawl that’s perfect for layering as the days are getting cooler. Starting at the centre top, using a double sided cast on for a seamless beginning, yarn overs emerge from the reverse stocking stitch background trailing knit columns. The scattered pattern grows denser at the lower edge transitioning into a simple but effective mesh pattern.

Cariño’s edges have the appearance of neat I-cord but are worked as rolled stockinette to give the shawl more give for blocking. Increases are worked on every other row at the centre spine and on every row at the edges to create a wide shallow triangle that’s rounded off with the curved mesh border and completed with a crochet chain bind off.

The pattern is both fully charted and written out, to suit every knitter’s preference.

375 yds / 342m fingering weight yarn with good stitch definition and nice drape.

Shown in SweetGeorgia Yarns Silk Crush (50% superwash merino, 50% silk, 375 yds / 342m, 4oz / 115g) in blood orange.

Note: sample used almost the entire skein. You may need extra for swatching or to allow for variations in knitting style.
