Suloinen
I love using traditional stitch patterns in vibrant colours and dramatic gauges. This quick to knit cowl combines bold garter stitch rib with lace waves and a motif more commonly used as a detail in more complicated lace patterns. Knitting in the round makes it easy to work the wave pattern without plain rows between the patterned ones. Decreases worked before the second set of waves taper the upper edge for a shape that sits comfortably over the shoulders while keeping the neck and ears cosy. It uses a single, if rather enormous, skein of Miss Bab’s gloriously squishy K2 yarn, a chunky merino with a very round 3 ply construction that highlights the texture of the stitch patterns perfectly.
