Carya is worked in a simple and fun-to-knit stitch pattern, which is notable for its beautiful texture. The lines of the stitches remind me of the lacy patterns that bare tree branches create against the brilliant blue of the winter sky.

The stitch pattern is worked with basic stitches, just a few simple yarn overs and some decreases, easy to knit and memorize. Also, the hat and the cowl each require less than 210 yards of worsted weight yarn, which makes this set a great last minute gift idea.

This pattern is a part of Texture: Four Hats and Cowls collection, available as Ravelry e-book.
