I’ve always found tree bark and its incredible variety fascinating and beautiful – the textures vary from smooth to deeply furrowed, the colors range from the palest grays to dark blackish browns. The strikingly textured Myris stitch pattern reminds me of the deep, almost geometric lines of the bark of cypress and cedar trees.

The linear pattern is created with a simple combination
of interesting stitches, it is quick-to-knit and easy to memorize. The accessories each require just under 140 yards of bulky weight yarn, which makes Myris a perfect last minute gift idea.

This pattern is a part of Texture: Four Hats and Cowls collection, available as Ravelry e-book.
