From Knitting for Baby:  Wrapping or dressing a baby in fine-quality cashmere is, indeed, extravagant, but it also seems entirely appropriate.  Whose baby doesn't need to be caressed in one of the softest. lightest, warmest, and most luxurious fibers available?  And what better way to knit a message of I Love You and You are Special than to make this deluxe trio, or one of its pieces.

This incredibly soft blanket features an easy eight-stitch cable.  To keep the sides of the blanket straight, the cable section, which contracts from side-to-side, is worked over more stitches than the top and bottom garter-stitch borders.
