A collection of choker sets to tie you in knots.

This set was inspired by all of those gorgeous Celtic Knots out there. The Celtic Knot is one of the best known motifs in Celtic jewellery and art. The delicate twists and turns are found in ancient stone art and tattoos, in illuminated manuscripts - in fact, just about anywhere the Celtic people have travelled. Similar designs exist in Norse culture, and as far as China. I have only used some of the simplest but I am really pleased with the effect.

As always, the thread I have used is DMC Petra. I love the way this thread feels - and the fact it is machine. It comes in 100g balls. You can also use DMC Perle which comes in 25m skeins or 10g balls. I have made mine all in blues but you don’t have to. The only limitation on the colours is the colour chart of the thread you use!

Materials: Each set has the approximate individual amounts used for that set. Please make sure you buy plenty is using Perle rather than Petra. All jewellery findings are available from good suppliers or on eBay. When using the hoops for the earrings in the 3rd set, make sure you fix the ends firmly before starting. They are made to come apart to thread beads on.

Set 1: DMC Petra (approx. 10g), 2 kidney wires,
Set 2: DMC Petra (approx. 25g), 2 kidney wires, 1 barrette.
Set 3: DMC Petra (approx. 45g), 2 kidney wires, 2 x 4 cm earring hoops, 8 x 7 cm wire bangles, 6 pony beads, 130 small beads.
Set 4: DMC Petra (approx. 10g), 2 kidney wires.

Equipment: 1.50mm hook, Needle for sewing in ends.

Tension (UK terms): Using Perle No.5 and 1.50mm hook, 18 dc and 19 rows to 5cm square.
