Enjoy a simple, easy knit with us as summer turns to autumn this this fun and relaxing mystery knit along, hosted by J. L. Fleckenstein in the Fleckenstein and Friends Ravelry group, and sponsored by Lucky Violet Color Co.

And remember, get your yarn on order early to be at the head of the line, so we can custom dye and ship it out in plenty of time for the MKAL’s beginning.

This MKAL will begin on the autumnal equinox (September 22, 2017 this year), with clues being released in these stages:

First Clue = September 22, 2017 at 10:02 p.m. (EST)
Second Clue = September 30, 2017 by noon
Third Clue = October 7, 2017 by noon

This piece was designed and sample knit in one of the Lucky Violet Color Co Lace Weight yarns, but may also be knit in any of our fingering weight yarns. If knit in fingering weight, you will want to use larger needles (Size U.S. 6 to 8) and you would probably want to use 2 to three hanks of fingering weight yarn to reach a similar size to the lace weight.

The piece is smaller on one end than on the other and is quite long allowing for lots of draped wrapping. When the MKAL is finished you will have a lovely, drapey yet cozy wrap that may be worn in a variety of ways, depending on your mood and outfit.

There is no lace, and there are not complicated stitches, as this is meant to be a very relaxing project that you can make while watching your favorite movie on T.V., having coffee or wine with friends, riding the bus, etc.

You might also want to add beads (optional, but quite lovely), and we will offer an optional border (extra yarn required if you choose this option, preferably in a contrasting color).

This knit will be appropriate to work in one color, or any number of colors gradiently faded into one another -- your choice. If you are interested in a gradient fade, we have some great Curated Palettes to drool over --> here.
