The chick that lays a crème egg !

It’s simple and quick to make and, although originally designed to hold crème eggs, the same basic pattern also – with minimal modifications – makes either a slightly dumpy but very cute stuffed chick or an egg cosy.

Stitches used - UK terminology
Chain
Slip stitch
Double crochet
Treble crochet

The pattern, whilst it does not use a conventional crochet chart, does include visual guides which serve exactly the same purpose.

The stitches are all fairly straightforward so I think the pattern should be doable by an ambitious beginner. The nature of the chick is such that, even should the odd error creep in, it really won’t spoil the overall effect.

Any yarn will work, so the chicks are a fun way to use leftovers from other projects.

And for those who don’t like to waste paper and ink, the pattern is organised in such a way that you can avoid printing unnecessary blurb and photos !
