With stripes, slipped stitches, and an easy colorwork pattern along the instep, Chocolate Disco packs a lot of punch into a small package! Knit cuff-down with a short-row heel (no gusset!) and 2 different instep patterns to mix or match, these socks are easily customized for a wide range of preferences.

Pattern is written for sizes S, (M, L)/7.5”, (8”, 8.5”) leg circumference, blocked and unstretched. The suggested yarn does provide a good amount of stretch. Pattern is needle-agnostic; you may use a 9” circular, DPNS, a long circular for Magic Loop, or any combination thereof.

If you just want to swatch with one color, blocked gauge is approximately 7.5-8 sts/inch. Written pattern gauge uses the colorwork pattern from the instep.

Materials: US size 2 needle(s), tapestry needle, stitch markers

Yarn Requirements: Approximately 150-175 yards of each of 2 colors of fingering weight yarn. As written, you will reverse colors between the socks, so you will use equal amounts of each color. High contrast tonals or solids are recommended. If you want to pair a variegate with a solid or tonal, make sure there is plenty of contrast between the two or the patterns will get lost.

Sample shown used Unplanned Peacock Twinkle Twist sock yarn in colors Cotton Candy and Cranberry.
