I wrote the Circle of Pines cable knit hat a few years ago and have had a vision for the cowl since then but have not written it up until now. I envisioned some stacked cables with rows of slipped stitches, similar to the hat design, but horizontal. I was so excited to watch this come to life, and I love how it turned out.

This cowl features slipped stitches and easy cables, knit flat on giant needles, and then seamed in the back.

The cowl pattern is written for two widths, and can be made at any length. I’ve included some bonus instructions on how to make this cowl a bit longer with a toggle button closure as well; this version of the cowl is not seamed together.
