Need a quick and simple project to knit on the road or in front of the TV? Want to showcase a sock yarn that’s just too special to be touching the ground all the time? Cirrus works up fast and lets your yarn take center stage. Stripes and a short row scalloped edging keep things interesting. In no time you’ll have a fun, lightweight shawl that’s as easy to wear as it is to knit!

Instructions are written only and include a schematic, as well as guidelines for altering the size of the shawl.

Yarn: Approx. 575 yards/525 meters of fingering/sock weight yarn in two colors: approx. 400 yards/366 meters of Main Color (MC) and approx. 175 yards/160 meters of Contrast Color (CC)
Shown in Qing Fiber Merino Single Ply in Shusui (MC) and Knit Picks Stroll Hand-Painted in Pearlescent Tonal (CC)

Needles: US 4/3.5mm circular needle, 24” or longer (to accommodate large number of stitches) and any type US 6/4mm spare needle (for bind-off)

Notions: 2 stitch markers (ideally different colors) and yarn needle

Gauge: 22 stitches and 48 rows in garter stitch, after blocking (note that because garter stitch is so stretchy and sometimes difficult to measure, exact gauge is unimportant, but try to match if you can!)

Finished dimensions: 50”/127cm width, 19.5”/49.5cm depth from center top to center bottom point, 30”/76cm along side edge
