Plump round cables nestled in horseshoes give an eye-catching twist to the classic cabled beanie. Inspired by tree hollows and old forest, this snug hat is perfect for a walk in the woods on a crisp autumn day.

Due to the nature of the cable pattern, the two sizes are worked on different sized needles.

Pattern instructions are available written and charted. To print only the written instructions, omit page 4. To print only the charted instructions, omit page 3.

Sizes: Adult S (M/L)

Yarn: 150 (175) yards of worsted weight yarn. Size S is shown in Kollage Yarns Fantastic in Olive & Classic Elite Mountaintop Crestone in Gray. Size M/L is shown in Cascade 220 in Sunflower.

Needles: Different needles are used for each size.

  • Size S: Size US 6/4mm 16” circular & Size US 7/4.5mm 16” circular and DPNs
  • Size M/L: Size US 6/4mm 16” circular & Size US 8/5mm 16” circular and DPNs

Gauge: Gauge is dependent on which size you are making.

  • Size S: 33 stitches and 34 rows = 4” in Main Chart Cable Pattern, unstretched, on size US 7/4.5mm needles
