Knit up this squishy, modular, buttoning cowl in five shades of bulky yarn, making up a four-color overall chevron pattern with contrasting V’s scattered about.

Use two sets of similar colors - darker and lighter versions of the same color - for the best shaded chevron effect, or go for five totally different colors for a more crazy slanted color block design.

The size of this piece is easily adjustable, to get your favorite cowl style; you could even make it twice as long to make an extra warm and giant double-wrapping piece, for the coldest of climates.

The color chart is given as a color-by-number grid, so that you can fill in the colors you want to use! At the end, you’ll find some blank drawings of the cowl with the color numbers filled in, so that you can break out the colored pencils and try out some ideas.

The approximate size of this piece is 9 inches / 23 cm wide, 29 inches / 74 cm long; the length is very easily modified and the width can be changed by adjusting gauge.
