This top-down triangular shawl is a fun and easy way to study the interaction of color and texture. Choose two favorite colors, cast on, and observe how simple stripes alternating between garter stitch and stockinette produce a complex effect with very little effort.

Instructions are provided for a basic elongated-triangle shawl and suggestions for variations are offered—including a v-neck variation, as shown in the gray sample, for which detailed instructions are included.

Yarn requirements: about 100g of each of two colors of fingering weight yarn. Basic triangle sample shown in Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering in two One Hit Wonders (dark green and deep pink); v-neck variation shown in Shalimar Breathless in Black Truffle and Ore.
