Finally got to play with Shibui Knits new yarn Pebble! I mixed it with Staccato for this cardigan and it is wonderful!! The staccato gives great stitch definition and drape while the pebble adds a tweedy rich color and a soft plush feel. For some reason in this cardigan I think it gives a bit of an old school look. I love it! The cardigan is worked from the top down in one piece beginning with a rounded yoke that has pretty bobbles and cabled circles on a purl background. Raglan increases are worked to shape the bodice. There is short rows across the back so that the front neckline hangs a little lower than the back neckline. I named it Coriander because of the color and look reminded me of spices. This is a wear everyday cardigan. It is comfortable with causal clothes, but pretty enough to be dressed up. You will love it!

Materials:
Yarns: Shibui Staccato, 65% superwash merino, 30% silk, 5% nylon; 191 yds per 50g skein; color: #2010 Flaxen, 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11) skeins, 964 (1068, 1156, 1261, 1349, 1454, 1542, 1646, 1735, 1839, 1927) yds.
Shibui Pebble, 48% silk, 36% merino, 16% casmere; 330 yds per 25g skein; color #34 Brownstone, 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9) skeins, 964 (1068, 1156, 1261, 1349, 1454, 1542, 1646, 1735, 1839, 1927) yds.
Needles: Size 5/3.75mm 24” (or longer) circular needle and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed needles.
Other: Stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle, crochet hook for buttons.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch.

Notes:
This rounded yoke cardigan is constructed from the top down in one piece with raglan increases to shape the bodice. To create a flattering fit, there are short rows to shape the back neckline higher than the front. There is waist shaping worked on the front and back. The length of the body can be adjusted by working more rounds after the Increase rounds or by working more Increase rounds. If you desire a straighter fit, you may leave out the waist shaping. If you change the waist shaping, make sure you end up with a multiple of 4 + 27 (equal to a multiple of 4 + 2 for the body sts, plus button bands and reverse stockinette panels).
The buttonhole and button bands are worked as part of the body of the cardigan. The buttonholes are the yarnovers in the buttonhole band so you may use as many buttons as you desire. I placed a button for every third yarnover. The collar will roll under slightly, allowing the bobbles to stick up above the collar for added texture.

Errata: On Cuff Chart st # 4 on row 8 should be a purl st.
