Cottonwood Hill’s elongated diagonal rib is created using slipped stitches. The simple two-stitch traveling cable motif paired with Stockinette stitch makes this cardigan a quick knit.

To Fit Baby/Child 6-12 months (12-24 months, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10).

Finished Measurements 20 (21½, 22¾, 24¼, 26, 28¾, 30½)”/ 50 53.5, 57, 60.5, 65.5, 71.5, 76cm chest circumference. Cardigan shown measures 22¾”/57cm, designed to be worn with 2-3”/5-7.5cm of positive ease.

Yarn MAD|TOSH Tosh DK (100% Superwash Merino Wool), 225yds 205m/3.5oz 100g: Betty Draper Blue 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5) hanks.

Needles US Size 6 (4.0mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Waste yarn for Tubular Cast-On (contrasting color); 5 (5, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8) buttons – size ⅝”/16mm; sewing thread; sewing needle; markers; removable markers; tapestry needle.

Gauge 22 sts and 28 rows = 4”/10cm in St st; 26 sts and 30 rows = 4”/10cm over Back Chart.

Notes Pieces are worked flat and then seamed. Neckband and Front bands are picked up and worked separately. Read all charts from right to left for RS (odd numbered rows) and left to right for WS (even numbered rows).
